Cancer Support Community of Pasadena hosted its ninth annual “Ladies Night Out” with a sold-out crowd of 232 women on the rooftop of the Hotel Constance last week. A record-setting $125,000 was raised during the evening that honored cancer survivors from the community. “Mamma Mia” was the theme, with guests enjoying games and an auction. Denise Borgia and Aida Petro served as the event’s co-chairs; committee members included Melissa Alcorn, Kal Antoun, Elizabeth Arnett, Karen Barsamian, Andrea Coupe, Marlene Evans, Stacey Fortner, Rita Gooch, Anthony Guthmiller, Rebecca Harris, Susan Haynes, Christina Kempton, Julie Kenworth, Sandy Kobeissi, Vicki Laidig, Michelle Mendez, Caroline Mesropian, Laura Mickens, Cynthy Moffatt, Vicky Mulligan, Dana Naples, Patricia Ostiller, Ellen Pansky, Linda Procci, Suzy Sheedy, Peggy Smith and Debra Underwood. Louise Wannier is the organization’s board president; Meg Symes is executive director.
“Ladies Night Out honors all women in the community who are facing cancer or have faced cancer. It is our second largest fundraiser of the year,” said Meg Symes, CSCP’s executive director. “The evening raises an important portion of our annual operating dollars so that we can continue to offer our programs at no charge. We couldn’t be more grateful to our benefactors and patrons and all of our LNO sponsors and guests.”
Cancer Support Community Pasadena provides free support groups, educational workshops, and healthy lifestyle classes to cancer patients and their families. For more information, go to cscpasadena.org.
