Clairbourn School families always enjoy coming together to support education and celebrate community. Despite the rain, they turned out with great energy and glamorous attire for this year’s Spring Benefit auction, themed “Small World Big Hearts,” at the La Cañada Flintridge Country Club.
Benefit co-chairs Stephanie Chang, Tarsha Proctor Standridge and Lucy Balikian began planning this event more than a year ago, and built an active team of volunteers to coordinate auction procurement, patronage, décor, entertainment and food. Hundreds of auction items were secured, including Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran Rose Bowl concert tickets, a live recording session with Grammy award-winning mentors and celebrity vocal coaches, and Major League Soccer Director’s Box seats for the LA Football Club, which are not available to the public. The show-stopper of the night brought heavy competition among parents to secure the very last “Headmaster for the Day” event for their child with retiring Head of School Robert Nafie.
The event also included entertainment, including Bollywood dancers from Shingari’s School of Rhythm and African dancers from Move Dance Live, and a moving video tribute to Nafie for his 39 years of leadership at Clairbourn.
