Families Forward Learning Center, formerly Mothers’ Club, recently held its eighth annual “Twilight Tasting” in Pasadena to support education and social services for the community’s low-income families with young children. The event was held at Families Forward’s facility and included live entertainment and unlimited food and beverage tastings provided by 16 of Los Angeles’ top restaurants and eateries. Guests were able to bid on more than 100 items at the event’s silent auction, and dance to live music by the Labrateers. Executive Director Hector LaFarga Jr. welcomed Congresswoman Judy Chu who commended the organization for its work, and Families Forward alumna Brenda Quiroz gave a moving speech about her journey as a young mother, college student and now successful dental assistant as a result of the support and guidance of Families Forward. Twilight Tasting raised more than $75,000, which will support the organization’s two-generation learning programs.
