Sequoyah Summerhouse’s first year has been positively exploding with creative, exploratory fun. Summerhouse is a summer experience offering engaging classes and adventures designed to nurture the curiosity in every child. Kids spend their days exploring, finding new friends and sharing in the joy of discovery. Participants have discovered how much fun obstacle courses can be, eaten way too many delicious homemade pickles, learned how to care for chickens, cooked with a lot of masa and perfected fabric dying techniques. On weekly travel days, kids explored the city, discovering its hidden gems including Pasadena’s museums and public library, Eaton Canyon, Arlington Gardens, the Gamble House and more. Summerhouse Kids have come from as far as China, New York and Hawaii, and as nearby as San Gabriel and Los Feliz; from Sequoyah; and other schools public and private throughtout the greater Los Angeles area.
