More than 120 members of the Christ Child Society of Pasadena gathered with armloads of diapers, helping to provide support for young mothers and their newborns in the greater San Gabriel Valley. The Pasadena Chapter was founded in 1933 and has been supporting young mothers since then.
The 43rd annual Christmas event was a feast for all senses. Valerie McAndrews, Lisa Mohr and Mary Hatton organized the brunch at the home of Ana and George Raptis. The morning soiree was decorated with a Christmas floral motif by Nicole of the Bee Cottage on Lake. Members enjoyed the buffet catered by Mary Pat Brandmeyer.
The diaper collection was a huge success with more than 4,500 diapers donated by members attending the event. Sarah Scott and Sue Heller, coordinators of the layette program, were overwhelmed by the generosity of the members.
