The Pasadena City College Foundation Board of Directors and Advisers gathered recently at the University Club for their annual dinner. Foundation board President Bill Hawkins greeted everyone and introduced Cynthia Olivo, a featured speaker. Olivo spoke of student services and the needs that PCC students have beyond tuition and books. She thanked the foundation for its support of the Lancer Pantry, which provides more than 1,000 meals a week to its students.
PCC student Erika Summers told her story as a nontraditional student and single mother. Bobbi Abram, executive director of the foundation, presented Summers with a Student Success Scholarship. Veronica Mejia, former Tournament of Roses princess and PCC alumna, also received a scholarship.
