Pasadena’s First Responders Are Celebrated at BBQ

First published in the Nov. 4 print issue of the Pasadena Outlook.

The Pasadena office of Coldwell Banker Realty hosted its 20th anniversary First Responders BBQ for Pasadena first responders and their support staff.
The annual event was originally organized by veteran realtor Rosey Bell and others to celebrate first responders on a local level in honor of the heroic acts of first responders on Sept. 11, 2001. Every year, real estate agents affiliated with the Pasadena office of Coldwell Banker Realty make the event possible by donating money, preparing the food and volunteering their time to serve. This year, more than 300 meals were served in one day.
“This barbecue is a wonderful way for us to show our support to the amazing people on the front lines, especially during this time. We are happy to provide a setting where members of different departments can let their hair down and visit with each other over a meal, instead of a crime scene,” said Lori Ramirez, branch manager of the Pasadena office of Coldwell Banker Realty. “They are so appreciative of our homemade barbecue, and we love showing our support. It’s become an annual tradition between the departments and the Pasadena office.”
To commemorate the 20th anniversary of the event, Jamie Duran, president of Coldwell Banker Realty Southern California; Steven Heravi, regional vice president for the Greater Los Angeles-Inland Region of Coldwell Banker Realty in Southern California; and Lori Ramirez presented Bell, a Coldwell Banker Global Luxury property specialist, with an award on behalf Coldwell Banker Realty in recognition of her commitment to arranging this special annual event. In addition, representatives from the Pasadena Police Department and Fire Department also presented Bell with certificates, mugs, pins and coins as a thank you for 20 years of great barbecue.
